How to create your own textures.

DigitalPhotographySchool has already covered how to use textures in your photos to give them a completely different look and feel, but now it’s time to get inspired and create your own textures – all around your house.

Five Delicate Grunge textures.

LostAndTaken has a nice, small set of light and delicate grunge textures for you. If you like these make sure to check out the previous post of eight subtle grunge textures.

Light Grunge Textures.

Sometimes you just need to add a hint of grunge to your designs, rather than a big dirty mess and that’s where these subtle grunge textures come in. WebDesignLedger created them in Photoshop by combining several different textures in separate layers to get the final effect that you see.

31 original free textures.

By now you can tell at DesiznTech we love textures. Here are 31 original textures with different varieties. Some of them are tweaked a little in Photoshop. There are wood, abstract, mat, plastic and more textures to use. As usual, they are free for personal use.

Free Texture: Noir Grunge.

BittBox wanted to try out some more experimental grunge textures this week and this is what he came up with, a nice set of dark and grungy textures. Each textures is actually 4-5 different textures combined in different layers in Photoshop to get the end result.

10 more free Paper textures.

This time TutorialFreakz have created 10 Free Paper Textures that you can download for free. They are all unique and can only be downloaded from their site. You can use them for free for personal and commercial use, but you can’t sell them and claim them as yours. Fair enough.

25 more free Photoshop texture packs.

Photoshop textures are very widely used in modern web design, and hopefully you don’t have to create all your textures by yourself, since a great choice is available freely on the web. In the following collection, DesignReviver has selected some of the best free Photoshop texture packs just for you.

30 incredible Vintage textures.

One of the most important aspects of a good vintage style design is the use of authentic looking textures. Since most of you probably don’t have time to browse the local antique shop, and your grandmother’s attic is miles away, WebDesignLedger has put together a list of some of the best vintage textures they’ve ever seen.

Another Spray Paint Texture Pack.

You can never have enough spray paint textures. Just drop them in your designs and add a hue/saturation adjustment layer to change the colors. Easy as that. This stunning pack from MediaMilitia includes 25 images that are all around 3000 pixels at 300 dpi. Personal and commercial use is welcomed and encouraged!
