Balance: Definition and Gallery.

Balance is the arrangement of objects in a given design as it relates to their visual weight within a composition. Symmetrical balance is achieved when design elements hold the same weight or when two sides of a centrally placed item are arranged equally. The second type of balance, asymmetrical, occurs when objects of varying visual weight balance each other around a central point. FreelanceReview elaborates.
